Eichenberger Ballscrews

We are the the largest stockist of Swiss precision Eichenberger Gewinde ballscrews outside of Switzerland. Eichenberger ballscrews are a highly efficient way of converting rotary to linear motion. This is due to the ballscrews high reliability, precision and efficiency compared to more traditional power transmission components such as belt or chain drives (which we also distribute). Eichenberger Ballscrews are more efficient and have a longer life span than acme or trapezoidal threads. The main reason behind a ballscrews efficiency is the presence of ball bearings that are housed within the nut. The bearings run on the cold-rolled thread, greatly reducing the amount of friction between the screw and nut themselves. The design of the ball screw nut cleverly allows the ball bearings to re-circulate, resulting in a longer and more predictable lifetime.

Benefits of  Eichenberger Ball screws

Eichenberger no-wear ballscrew drives, ideal for moving heavy loads with low energy consumption. Cold-formed screws that stand out for their robustness, precision, strength, efficiency and smooth running. This form allows for extreme pitches, giving unprecedented travel speeds.
Typical ballscrew thread manufacturing processes such as milling, turning or whirling involve machines cutting the material, with the disadvantage of interrupting the grain of the steel. However Eichenberger’s cold-rolling produces very precise thread geometries with high surface quality.  Instead of cutting, a radial dynamic force is exerted onto the shaft between two rotating rolling dies to form the thread. Thread-rolling diverts the longitudinal grain of the metal, hardening the surface profile at the same time. This "smooth rolled surface" offers little opportunity for dirt to attach aiding in low friction, low noise, long service life and giving excellent energy efficiency of the balscrew.

The ballscrew nuts are fitted with various ball returns, fully integrated into the ballscrew nut body. The optimum system for your drive solution is selected on the basis of dimensions, temperature, travel speed, load and application range.
We offer off-the-shelf or bespoke custom nuts to suit any application.

Custom Ballscrews - Special Nut Designs and End Machining of Eichenberger Balls Screws

For custom Ball screws Moore International can offer a range of machining facilities in the UK or at the factory in Switzerland, including softening the ballscrews for customers who want to machine them in-house themselves. Special or custom ballscrew nuts can also be made from customer drawings the provide specified diameters and pitches and in minimum quantities of only 250.
