BALL SCREWS
Ball Screws - An Introduction
Ball screws are a highly efficient way of converting rotary to linear motion.
This is due to the ball screw's high reliability, precision and efficiency compared to more traditional power transmission components such as belt or chain drives, which we also distribute.
Ball screws also offer a much higher lifetime and efficiency over acme / trapezoidal threads where long hours and frequent use are needed and high loads. The main reason behind a ball screw's efficiency is the ball bearings running on the cold rolled thread thus taking away the friction between the screw and nut which holds the balls and allows them to recirculate this then allows for a more predictable lifetime, provided that all the parameters have been taken into consideration.
Benefits of Ball Screws
Typical points that are normally associated with these life calculations are load speed at which load is to be moved over a certain distance. What type of bearings / configurations are used. Due to the nature of ball screws consideration must be given to speed and length of screws to avoid what we call buckling or whipping.
Special Nut Designs and End Machining
We can offer a range of machining facilities from Switzerland or in the UK. We can soften the spindles for customers that want to machine in house themselves. Nuts can be made to customer drawing and new diameter and pitches, if the quantity needed for production is met or tooling is paid by the customer / end user, in some cases as small as 100 is enough for some new sizes depending on usage per year.
 | Eichenberger Gewinde AG ball screws are at the forefront of today'stechnology in terms of quality and precision thanks to state-of-the-art production methods employed with extensive product knowledge. Carry screws are manufactured by the highly economical cold-rollingprocess which offers significant cost savings but also maintains aprecision quality normally associated with ground ball screws whichtraditionally are very expensive. - Eliminates the need for costly thread grinding.
- Advantages are high efficiency 90%
- Low power input
- Low self heating
- Low frictional, stick slip free running
- Maximum wear resistance i.e. very good repetition accuracy with a constant positioning precision
- Very high reliability and durability
- All our ball screws use Kluber lubrication
